F1 Paint Finishing
When we undertake F1 paint
finishing work, the engine
cover and nose are required in addition
to the chassis in order to lay out the
full livery. The car's colours and lines are
marked out using tape to ensure continuity
between different parts of the car.
Measurements are then taken from the
F1 car and used when respraying the cars
during
the rest of the racing season.
After the parts are marked out, our
objective is to paint the chassis with minimum possible weight
added, firstly
with a coat of white primer, then with
the final colours. We take great
care in the quantity as weight is
one of the most critical factors in F1.
Once painted, it is then placed in one
of our low-bake ovens and after
cooling, the parts are then polished
extensively. he detailWe
understand that the parts on the F1 car must have a
perfectly smooth surface at the points
where the colour changes as any
disruption of airflow will affect
aerodynamics of the car on the track.
