F3 Paint Finishing
When starting work on an F3
paint finishing project car, the car's colours and lines are marked out with tape whilst the body parts
are assembled. This means that any
sponsors' logos or designs that cross over
different panels will look as though they are
one piece on the car.
F3 cars, as with any motorsport, are
painted a number of times
during the racing season due to damage.
This means that we take special care to
measure the location of decals and
designs so that we can create drawings
of the design in order to copy the
design when it comes in for a respray. After the
areas are marked out, our
objective is to paint the chassis with minimum possible weight
added, firstly
with a coat of white primer, then with
the final colours.
Once painted, it is then placed in one
of our low-bake ovens and after
cooling, the parts are then polished
extensively. he detailWe
understand that the F3 car body parts must have a
perfectly smooth surface at the points
where the colour changes as any
disruption of airflow will affect
aerodynamics of the car when on the
circuit.
